What can it do apart from diagnostics, forced dpf regen, turn off airbag lights and adjust airmatic suspension?

I am sure is it very useful for fault diagnosis, though personally I am interested in this for:
(a) Interrogating the car's systems and obtaining HW/SW versions.
(b) Update ECUs firmware
(c) Unlock any 'hidden' features if applicable

Wouldn't it be better to just pay a decent inde with Star to make changes as and when required - where it makes sense for them to buy this kind of kit?
