Mclaren SLR test drive!

I know how u must feel... i never got the priveledge of driving it like u did.. but i've sat in one when i was on visit to dubai last month and i know when it gets floored u feel like your floating from how fast it picks up speed :D. Amazingly comfortable cruiser too i must say... thought it would be all shakey and edgey like most supercars are

:bannana:

That's actually quite a good way of describing the feeling-this huge car dances and floats as it dives for the horizon. I REALLY wouldn't fancy that feeling in the wet! I think this is now the fastest car I've ever been out in- though Maff's CL 65AMG was not far behind.

I think you've got those figures confused with the McLaren F1. Official and tested time is 3.7s to 60mph - the 722 a touch quicker. Quarter mile time is around 11.5s at ~128mph.

Typical Stats post. Doesn't thank you for posting but does pick you up on a 0.6 second technicality

Remember seeing this SLR parked at the Dorchester the night before the 2006 Gumball Rally. Pretty cool graphics

Breathtakingly fantastic - I do quite like the Veyron, love the noise it makes as it accelerates away - bye bye, leaving anything in its slipstream.

Some of the magazines criticised the quality of the interior saying it was a bit plasticy when they were expecting carbon, titanium, unobtainium...
What was your impression?

I've only seen one in real life and that was in Germany where it flung on the brakes to get onto a motorway slip road. Noise was great and the airbrake was in full working order... Fortunately I saw it coming in my mirrors.

I'd go along with that. The leather is all lovely and the carbon fibre seats are nice but the centre consul looks like sprayed plastic. (But you don't spend much time looking at it!)

Nice what an opportunity. Are there any mods that need to be done. Couldn't stand it in it's standard form - surely there must be something. I'll think on it. Great car.
