Does anyone else have the above and have you used it at all? I've got the black forged alloys on my 2016 c63 and in under a week of ownership I've managed to kerb one. In my defence my lane is single track, but it's no real excuse and I'm fricking fuming. Now, I was under the impression that I could have ten refurbs, but on closer inspection it appears that they won't refurb my wheels cos of the polished lip, but they'll replace them four times?!? Does anyone here know what the craic is cos I'm confused! Ta guys!

The dealer suggested alloy wheel insurance for the new car amongst a variety of insurances and I'm thinking about it too. A workmate had it for his RS4 and it saved him hundreds with the car tyre insurance too, as he had a few expensive punctures as well as kerbing it.

Did one of mine on the E350 6 weeks or so into ownership to say I was miffed would be an understatement.

Trouble these days is mine cannot be done in situ so have to be taken in but most cars are no longer supplied with a jack or spare.

Cost to replace £650.

I gently rubbed mine down to get rid of rough bits and then lacquered the area, luckily mine was not too bad, hardly noticeable.

MB introduced a new Alloy Wheel and Tyre policy on the day I took delivery of my C63 coupe. 06/01/17

This is what I got:

5 tyre replacements over 4 years Malicious / accidental. Min thread 2mm

10 alloy wheel replacements (19/20 forged in my case ) wheels will be replaced.

Total cover £675 for 4 years.

MB are currently building up a supply of refurbed alloys for all their alloys.

In effect your damaged alloy is replaced immediately from the bank, then your damaged one is refurbured and stored for whoever claims next.

That's how they are able to keep the cost down. In the last they were replacing them with new wheels.

Might be completely irrelevant but I did hear of someone making a claim under alloy wheel cover and it got denied as the damage had occured more than (I think) 14 days prior.

I guess this is more relevant if the wheel is being repaired, but you don't want to give them an excuse to deny your claim.

Cheers guys! I haven't looked into it any more after dinging the wheel the other week cos I did it again a few days later and figured I'd just let the wheel be sacrificial for the time being cos our lane is so tight. The new policy sounds pretty good gene! It's slightly different to the one I got on the 30/12/16 isn't it!?

Yes pretty boy. This started on the 6th January .

But don't forget, as Rory mentioned, there is a strict time limit for claims to be considered.

Yeah, I realise there's a strict time limit, but how would they know when you did the damage? If they're returning the wheel they'll be doing the whole thing, so I might have old marks, then do a particularly bad one say and decide to get it done then?
