That's incredible pricing! MB South west want £750 ish for a b3 service including fuel and air filters! I'm actually negotiating on the service plan, it's around £40 per month inc vat which is not too bad as it includes 2 b services, an a and ATF fluid change , plus collection which saves us 2 hours every time we need a service

It also includes a courtesy car if that suits you.

Did service B today at MB Dartford,
Do you guys know if they did any software update with service B ?

You're local to me, try Orpington next time far superior service.

Out of warranty I'd just use KwikFit or similar for A services, it's just an oil change.

If KwikFit can find some other work they will tell you, I believe that they probably look harder for additional work than most.

Dealers make a big thing about doing updates but the idea that it gets everything updated when you visit is wrong.

Generally updates are only done in response to you mentioning a specific issue which MB have identified that a software update is needed to correct.

Only up the M5 a little bit (Clevedon) is Avantgarde Mercedes specialist.
He has the full STAR system and updates the central MB database. Speak to Steve there.

I was there on Friday and there were two SLRs in there being worked on...

Here's the link

Now I've come to book it's coming out at £375 for B Service, plus air and fuel filters. With courtesy car (which they've never charged me for in the past - my own insurance covers it).

I'm now stuck in the loop of dealing with an admin person at the dealer who either doesn't have the authority or the nouse to do anything other than repeat the MyService pricing.

You have to wonder how much business MyService costs the dealers.

Anyone know what the deal is on brake fluid changing now? MyService / ESS isn't calling for it on my car - have they backed away from routine 2yr replacement? I know there is a school of thought that it doesn't need to be changed.

MobiloLife is why you no longer get your booked stamped.
As its 30 years of cover and the car could be bought/sold many times everything is logged online. Service books get missed/lost.
So basically, keep your servicing up to date and you get free breakdown assistance with loads of features.

New MB vans no longer come with service books at all for the same reason.

Also, don't forget a yearly check is required for your corrosion warranty too!

What do you suppose the 30 year cover covers...not rust that's for sure?

I've used Mobilo twice or more in the past, it worked well for me as breakdown cover with free hire car thrown in for a few days.

Of course, the downside is the cost of maintaining MB service history as well as having the breakdown repaired at MB workshop prices. On the plus side they tend to get your car running again PDQ to save hire car costs.

I shall be very interested to hear if you pay any additional costs. My car has come with 3 years free servicing as part of the deal. Yours at that price I would expect to be fully inclusive, mine I have doubts about. John.

It should say everything you're entitled to in a massive contract

Avantgarde Mercedes specialist.

Would have been more apt to call it Avantgarde Mercedes Garage!

I wonder how long it will be before the air of litigation passes over them though.

I now have a rather jaundiced opinion of MB main dealers, all I can say is if you are mechanically inclined have a good look over your car before getting it serviced. My experience of the main dealer was being advised that I required £1600+ of tyres and bits that ultimately didn't really need replacing. For the sake of complete embarrassment of my local MB dealer I'll say no more.

Every dealer does this, I've experienced it with MB, Subaru, Vauxhall, BMW

Fair comment but Porsche Portsmouth were never anything other than honest and straightforward with all my dealings with my car. So much so I had no hesitation buying my SL63 from them.

Just received quote for B service and additionals of £787.17 on my 2012 W221 S350 S class CDI from MB Liverpool

Same work £400 with genuine MB parts from local tried and trusted Indie

Not much of a calculation required there
