hi all
had a great time with W on sunday.
we met up at the entry of the lovely auto show at 10.30 in the morning. glad I took the right bus which got me there in time...sshh...
many many great cars to see, just about 4 mercs but lots of American and Australian makes. also many british.
after that we jumped in the 199 cab and W took me to the waitakere ranges in the west. anazing scenery especially at piha beach where we had ehhh beer and then fish and chips by the beach. weather was fantastic.
we were back in the city at about 8 so it was quite a full day, but a nice full day
can't tell u much more cause I'm awaiting a call from a guy who's selling a 190... actually bought it yesterday already but the bloody atm wouldn't give me more than 500 cash. more to come soon...
Pleased to see you got a car Marvin and with a bit of luck you should be well on the way to getting a job now....
I'm not supposed to be drinking, it took me till now to get over the day's events, but since I hadn't been there for a few years and I meet up with all manner of old friends I made a bit of an exception.
Make sure you take the new car out to the beach, but maybe leave the motorcycle overtaking lark out till you really get to know the road.
For the first time in years we have a bumper grape crop in NZL.
These guys are screaming out for decent harvesting staff in Marlborough Melvin, nice part of the world, decent type of bloke running this company, should have a ball and earn at the same time.
Re the wine let us hope so but remember it would be nice if they actually made a bit of a profit for once instead of the middlemen.
Charles we were thinking very much of you and Dieselman when this shot was taken, they are a lot bigger than I remember. Entirely understand why they appeal, they have a presence that is hard to describe. This particular colour I liked very much, hadn't thought at the time that the rubbing strip looked out of place....
I was actually going to buy that car this morning after 4 days of waiting but guess what happened..? exactly, someone drove into it, entire front end is now dead. great, wasted 4 f---n days (
found another 190 here in Auckland though which I got to see earlier today after a 1 hour up and downhill walk with all my stuff (30 kg on my shoulders brrr). but what can I say... it's never ever worth 3000 dollars but apparently the guy (who is a nice chap though) doesn't see it that way. well that explains why the car has been.up.for sale since Dec 13. it won't find a buyer...
last chance here in Auckland is a clean diesel, silver and looking pretty good especially the engine bay. emailed the good man, I hope it hasn't been grabbed already. only 1500 bucks or less. not running too well when cold though but I guess that's just peanuts and can be sorted... cause that OM601 isn't even warmed up with its 180k km. I hope it's going to be mine soon.. always wanted a diesel 190
