Midlands GTG Sunday 23rd August 2015 - Arbury Hall (Near Mercland)

Yes Arbury hall spans a huge area.. There are various entrances. All the road signs lead you to Arbury Road though so hopefully no problems.

If it helps, and for the sat nav dependant, try the postcode CV10 7NF.

This should get you to the large gates on Arbury Road opposite Church Road as previously mentioned. :)

Hope I've got this correct. Information to the best of my knowledge, using Google Maps and Postcode Finder. Perhaps Jay and/or Charles, or anyone else that knows the area could confirm that the following is correct... or way off the mark.

Screen shot of map showing Arbury Road, with possible entrance to the Hall. Unfortunately, as the driveway to the it is a private road it's only a feint marking on the map.

Screen shot of what I think is the entrance to the Hall off Arbury Road, as mentioned by Charles. Signpost is just visible on the central road island opposite.

As Charles said the TomTom postcode given for the Hall leads to lane with no way through, this is the postcode for Elm Cottage 397 Arbury Road, the house virtually opposite the entrance in the above shot. CV10 7NG

That's the gate, but it's a bit further to the left on your map, just before Astley Lane.

On your picture of the gate, there's a sign on those bollards pointing to the entrance. The road where the bollards are is Church Rd and, as mentioned by Jay in an earlier post, that's where we need to be. :)

Rain stop play for me guys sry: mad: rain in merthyr so no show sorry but looking good there for you in Nuneaton have a good time, .....next time hopefully :thumb:

According to BBC weather it's going to be sunny until 3pm :thumb:

Jay I hope you don't mind but my two daughters want to come with us so there will be 4 in total which means no R107....coming in the w211 estate...
Cheers

Ray

Just had dinner in the Premier Inn nearby too and it was really good.

I'll try and stick to just the one bottle of wine so I don't sleep in tomorrow.

Yes, sorry if I confused anyone, the 'flag/marker' on the map is actually a Google maps place marker and is there as a result of my search for Arbury Road. The Hall entrance, as said, is just to the left of it, opposite Church Road.
The postcode CV10 7NG is for a house just out of shot to the right of the picture.

Wellies - check
Raincoat - check
Sunglasses - optimistic? :dk:

Good day, good people and some lovely cars.

Just got back (nearly) home so a swift couple of pints and an early night. :)

Thanks again Jay, appreciated.

Rob: passed you near Birmingham but you ignored me. :D

Just sat down at home after a mixed drive back. OMG!!! Did it rain.... ESP worked overtime. Drive through Cotswolds was again fast and flowing on drying roads. Got mixed up with a bunch of Aston Martins, sounded very nice! :)

Thank you Jay for organising a great GTG.

Great to catch up with old and new faces, just hope I can recall who's who next time! :o

What a good day and the weather was kind too
Good to see some old friends as well as meeting new ones
As for the cars there were some nice ones there but hard to compete with Jays one,I don't think that's fear Jay :D
Thank you very much to Jay his family and everyone involved for such a great event

The weather was much nicer today than yesterday! Lot less hot.

A big thank you for Jay - it is really kind to put on such an event and to look after people quite so well. Jay's collection is flat out lovely and the Grosser is marvellous, especially the colour!

Very nice to meet some new faces - BigUn and others I don't recall whose handles, and to catch up with an increasing number of reprobates with a genuinely lovely selection of mainly older cars.

Also lovely to be in such surroundings, although I missed the house tour as I was yakking too much.

Finally I can reveal that I got the days wrong and came up on Saturday too. It happens!

A great day Jay, thanks to all the hard work by you and your team.

You have an amazing collection of cars!
