ML270 CDI Fuel Filter location

Hi All,

Can someone send me a pic or detailed description of where I can locate the fuel filter on a 2002 ML 270 CDI?

Also be great if someone could describe how to change it! i.e. will i wee fuel all over the place!

Remove engine covers. Filter is on top of the inlet manifold

Remove fuel pipes. A small amout will be lost but not much.

Undo the 5mm alan key that clamps the filter.

Remove filter.

Fill new filter with diesel and re-fit.

I have a Mercedes ML 270 cdi 2002 (W163) - The diesel fuel filter/housing is leaking from underneath the fuel filter assembly somewhere, but unfortunately i cannot see or locate the actual leaking point, as the EGR unit and the power steering filler reservoir/housing is covering all the area around the fuel filter making it impossible to even see around and underneath the fuel filter...... How can I access the fuel filter housing / assembly area to get a good access to pinpoint the leak and take appropriate steps to fix the fuel leak ???
Do i have to remove the complete EGR unit/housing...and also the power steering filler housing too ???
. and obviously if I first remove the fuel lines, and undue the filter then I would not know where the actual leak is coming from,,,,,, could you suggest a method to solve this problem....Thanks
