Flango, I'm not implying for a second you are anti Japanese - you're a petrolhead so it would be totally unnatural. Still, I'm concerned for the company you keep :D

Not to forget the w210
I ran mine from thirty something k to a hundred and fifty something k over six and a half years and the only non-service replacement was a cat.
Great car for reliability. Dreadful car for rust.

Yeah I worry about it too their view on cars is certainly different to mine. One of them who is a serving traffic officer reckons the best everyday car he has driven is the Mazda 6 MPS I can't comment on that as I have never even been in one he reckoned the two tuned unmarked ones they had were uncatchable

MPS, is by all accounts (never driven one myself either) a real 260bhp? sleeper, possibly 300 tuned, but uncatchable...I don't know which is worse the Lexus omission or the MPS comment.

Spot on 300 bhp same as the Impreza STI they used to use

Totally agree on lexus rx300 cracking reliable motor but the thread is about cars not 4x4 otherwise lexus would have definitely figured in our discussions :-)

We had an RX300, and to be honest it was distinctly average, ate fuel, and had multiple hand/foot brake issues, rear brake issues, electrical problems etc, was pleased to get shot of it.

I may be a lone voice, but I was not impressed, dealer was good, but never saw any goodwill as it was 5yrs +

Another one I threw in was Subaru legacy all 3 of mine never went wrong only routine servicing and between the 3 they covered over 350k trouble free but the consensus wouldn't let that one in either so no anti Jap from me I love some of their cars

I think the consensus was spot on. I've had a Legacy, nice enough car, but would never call it an Executive car!

GS300 - changed the oil and filter had it two years and thats all i've done best £1800 i've ever spent

my 7er E65 was pretty reliable. It did have a few gremlins over its 1st few years, luckly all fixed under warranty.

I had it for a year outside of warranty, luckily it didnt have any issues.

I would certainly have another, probably over all the ones you list, but i've not experienced all of them 1st hand
