C220 CDI
Those cars have the same engine. 2010 has the 5 speed auto and the 2013 the 7g tronic. MPG wise the C250 looks to be a lot better! On the highway going super slow I managed 70MPG in the C250CDI. In my C220 I might see 47MPG. Both cars were in 5th gear. Just 30BHP difference between the cars but the C250 goes so much better.

Any of you guys did a remap on the C220CDI for overall improvement?

That C220 figure seems poor, depending what you mean by super slow? My rather older, bigger and heavier E220CDI estate (almost the same engine, OM646 EVO as opposed to OM651) managed this:

Doing about 50mph. Best I've ever seen is about 50 something. Never anything near 60mpg!

Getting 50mpg is so easy, 70mpg+ is the hard bit for a 220CDI, but I've seen 77 & 80mpg pics posted before, my best is 68.3mpg.

Well - car is at the dealer. Will have them look into this as well.

Can has this hesitation when moving from cold within the first 200m at times. It's like jerking/cutting out.

I've managed 80+ a few times in my BE C250cdi when driving like grandpa at constant throttle on clear motorways. It's still in the high 60s when driving more realisticlally at 70ish and my average over the last 12k miles (36% town) is 62.8mpg at an ave speed of 37so I'm pretty chuffed. Economy has improved somewhat during second year from new now that the engine has bedded down.

Hi mate,

In my 58pl c220 i found the mpg comp was off by 3-4mpg compared to measuring myself (86 miles a day - 80% motorway) but in the 2012 update it was nearly bang on..so u myt be getting even better than you think.

Had my 58 remapped but it didnt make any difference to economy tbh, others may have had more luck. Get a money back guarantee i say

gonna get mine remapped this thursday but the best til now was around 58mpg on steady 50mph from cold on an airport trip (around 50mls) ... have to check if i still can find the picture ... btw i got an 08-c220 cdi

52.8mpg...well hope to get a better result with the remap =)

The on board computer MPG figures are achieved from set parameters in the ECU, once you remap them, the on board computer is reading the wrong information and cannot be as accurate any more. You need to do before & after brim to brim tankfull tests.

I didn't know that, I thought it was calculated on real stats. Is there any way to get it accurate even after remap?
