My 300se will reach 60 in about 5 seconds flat - if you start from 55!

I just found out this car was actually a 540i sport! I just saw him again today and I memorised his plate and put it on a car insurance quote to find out what it was... Makes me want to buy a C230K all over again!

It's nearly, done all engine mods complete, brake pistons and seals all renewed, new cross drilled and grooved discs fitted.
Problem at the moment too much back pressure on exhaust so it needs to go for a few mods to give it a bit more free flow hoping they can accomodate me this week so I can get it done in time for the Scottish GTG next weekend, but it's quick, bloody quick

Its a private plate so it was easy to remember, but i'm still in awe! I really regret scrapping the poor 230 now
hahahahhaha ! ! ! ! I lolve these threads. That's awesome. BM drivers are ***ks. Don't buy one. You want a nice beemer 540i comparative - get a c43 amg, or c36 amg. Better still get a modern c320cdi or e320cdi and remap it - in fact most of the merc cdi's remap really well (My last was an A200cdi remapped with 200+hp and would spin the wheels in 3rd even with 8.5j amgs!)- I used to use DMS and Angel tuning but have since been using Viezu - they're so awesome I decided to set up a tuning company ! Have just moved from UK to Australia but can still sort you out with a cheap remap or v-switch with factory standard, eco, performance road and motor sport maps ;o) bespoke remaps you can upload at your leisure as much as you like !
Mental. I've just had my Cayman 's' remapped and with my exhaust and induction I'm down to mid high 4's to 60 and nicely under 10 to a ton

OK this morning I have the opportunity to try the W208 on a test track, now I know the exhaust is not optimum and our remapper has some work to do on the ECU but it will be interesting to see where the car currently sits.
I will be using the Dynolicious App which you can see here LINKY although I appreciate it is not as good as a rolling road it does give surprisingly good results as confirmed by the media and tuners, from experience it always gives 3- 4% lower than a dyno run.
Last time I ran the W208 it turned in 226 bhp & 0 - 60 mph 7.1 secs, that was on Dynolicious on the Dyno it came out at 231 bhp
So we'll se how it goes this morning and I'll post back the results

That will be almost identical to mine in performance. They perform so well, and in manual guise with the right exhaust they are so raw... I do miss my 230k... A B12 kit on it would have been perfection.
This was before I even got started on the mods... it was very healthy imo, or my driving was aggressive

Infraction issued.
I got an indicated 150 MPH on the speedo and 145 MPH on the sat nav in my CLK230k a couple of years ago when I was in Germany, I was very impressed with that but felt a bit disheartened moving over for much faster traffic a few times.
I thought that was pretty impressive for a 230k engine.

A Manual C230k can EASILY (and this was before i modded anything) get 0-60 times of 6 seconds. My brother recorded this when i was ~10k miles into its ownership:

I dynoed my car not too long after fitting the amg exhaust and it achieved 191bhp to the rear wheels = 225 bhp which i was mighty impressed with. So i was expecting to be a competitor for this debadged 535. I was just as surprised as him, because both our cars are debadged, ooohhh the fun
I remember when he was next to me, hearing that v8 roaring is soooooo nice, hard to describe, but i felt a bit intimidated but equally exhilarated upon hearing it roar at its redline before he changed gear.
totally agree adam.....i have a 98 c230 k manual and the slowest i have ever done before i remapped it was about 7 seconds.....after the remap i timed my best run at 5.96 seconds....always approaches the 6 mark...nobody out there realises how much of a difference a remapping, a replacement air filter and removal of cat and back seats and spare tyre can increase acceleration...ended up with 232 bhp which aint too bad
what the hell is everyone on about 8 seconds???...even my old automatic c230k done it in 7.5 seconds.
they are a WEAPON of a machine if they have their potential unleashed guys.
