new and wanting info on the 190e 2.3 16v

Have you got a link?

It would want to be a mint, lowish mileage car for that kind of cash though IMO :)

Found it:

Very tidy looking car, but from memory that has been 'for sale' for about 2 or 3 years minimum. Not a massive specification either from the looks of things, depending on a few factors I would say that may be worth closer to £6-7-8K, maybe. Obviously if it was 100% stunning in every respect, he may find someone keen for a mint/original car who would shell out the asking price :) I guess it's a bit of a waiting game, there's very, very few mint/original/low mileage example of these cars left now :(

You beat me to it,if it is at that price i can believe the wait.
I suppose though somebody will go for it its all to do with what they want to pay.
You say the spec was not high what should be on the car if you were going for one and would i be dissapointed if i purchased a good one as i have never driven such a car

The spec is nice to find on the right car - there were numerous 'options' that could be chosen when ordering these cars new. Electric seats, heated seats, full leather, air conditioning etc.

Nice to have, but by far the most important factor is condition of the car itself. Go for a well maintained car, preferably with as much history and sensible mileage as possible.

These cars are about 20 years old now, many have done 100k-150k, even 200K miles+ now so it's important to make sure you purchase wisely. If you buy a car which is in need of TLC it could cost you more than a mint one by the time you add all the work up. That's why, sometimes, cars seem expensive (perhaps like the one in that link), but long term it may work out cheaper than buying a tatty one that needs work.

Hi Grober,

I can't view pics from this connection at present, but I believe there is a picture in this lot that shows what I am talking about

I took the liberty to copy your original with a little "contrast enhancement" to see the lettering better. Hope you don't mind. Great pics in that post by the way.
