hi could anyone tell me a good battery to buy for my c220cdi 2003 diesel est as im having probs starting on cold mornings like today, ok and brill thoughout the summer and upto this really cold spell so decided to get a new batt,
any sugestions please ive seen a
Bosch 12V Silver Car Battery HSB019 with 5 Year Guarantee.
at halfords for £116.99 will this be ok or are they nogood,
any advise appreciated,
thanks.

Far too expensive.

Try your local MB stealer, Euro Car Parts or German Swedish and French factors.

Price should be around £80-£85

I've just replaced mine with a OE one. Merc dealer gave me a better price it than I could find anywhere else. The bosch silver was my 2nd choice but more expensive. Good battery though.

ok brill thanks for all the answers i will try main dealers tomorrow i just hope its not one of these battery/drain /loss overnight problems i see that are common with this model,
thanks.

That sounds better! Don't worry too much about the 2 year guarantee as Sale of Goods Act still applies!

Try GSF car parts and also Costco do BOSCH batteries if you know anyone with a card.

Or there are plenty of online retailers and most do next day delivery. e.g. Type 019 Varta Silver Dynamic Car Battery 12V 100Ah (Short Code: H3) (Varta DIN: 600 131 080 or 600 402 083) - Car Batteries - Varta Car Batteries

Are you sure its just not the glowplugs that need replacing? What are your symptoms, is it slow cranking or long cranking times?

hi think its the batt as it only cranks 4/5 times slowish then just clicks if i just connect my booster pack on it it will start n/ps,just seems that extra tiny bit sorts it out.

still not got out yet to fetch new batt but will do soon as able to

it usually takes about 6/8 cranks to start it
