New E-class coupe Vs. CLK coupe dash design

New dash or the old dash..

I was never a fan of the clk, however, having pondered on this thought, i thought i should see your thoughts on this..

What design do you prefer, the New E class coupe (Top) or the Last incarnation of the CLK dash (Bottom)..

I for one.. am much liking the CLK interior..

Well at first I thought the E class dash on the W212 was pretty poor, but looking at my friend's. (who I know from football)
Has an E250 CDi having a sit in it feels well finished and shows that Merc build quality is on par with BMW these days.
We may never return to the over engineered days, but good engineering will be good enough for me.
O and I vote E class and like you Boss I prefer it to the CLK.

EDIT: Not the dash the car in general.

Agreed its beginning to look dated, or that might just be Boss' photo.
Its suprising to see the E class in the lead.

Definitely the W212 for me. But then I am a bit biased as I have ordered one.

Also not a fan of wood. Got the aluminium in mine as part of the sport pack.

Some woods look good but only ones like oak or similar IMO.

New E for me, again biased but I did jump straight from the CLK270. Everything is just so "roundy" on the CLK IMHO.

Neither is a design classic but I'd say the CLK is less ugly in that it has less clutter and despite being a bit swoopy curvey, its a bit more harmonious.

The new E has too many funny angles and the steering wheel is straight from the batmobile and the centre console has all the allure of my office BT phone handset.

Is it me or are car interiors getting more and more fiddly with thinner looking plastic and random metal trims everywhere..

I liked the 211 interior more..

Prefer the new E-Class coupe interior to the CLK, which in my eyes was always a bit of an odd mix of W211 E-Class and W203 C-Class bits.

LOL, the E Coupe Sport has a better "Batmobile" steering wheel with a chunkier grip and a flat bottom
the batmobile look enticed me into getting the car, check my avatar
