New E55 AMG car purchase... finally!!!!

It was the relay that was the recall item, however there seems to be a correlation between new relay being fitted and original pump going bump.

thanks bobby, if the air injection pump goes them MK say they will sort it, i made a point of making sure they will cover this! they said it was only the relay tho, lets see hey!

I think you may have one more visit to the stealers regarding sc shutting down after a few blasts, its happened on both E55's i have owned and is a common fault.

guess what the cars going back to MK for (possible SC pump) thanks for the headsup! Also for a thud when moving forward after being in reverse.

true, my c36 was reliable by the time i sold it , but i knew everything that had been done to that! it als ohad its moments when everything would go wrong at the same time!, hopefully after this "Bedding in" period this one be ok too

super charger cooling pump - pumps water around the SC, like a water pump for your engine but for the SC, if it fails the Sc overheats and cuts out... thats my understanding anyway....

The pumps seem to give up the ghost within about 50k miles. I managed to get 60k out of my C32 but then it went kapput.

That is correct, pian in the ass when it cuts out easy fix mind but still costs a few quid!

dropped the car off this morning, got a call a few hours later

1. SC pump - was replaced in sept before i got it so that was fine.
2. thud- apparently this is normal? also seen a thread on mbworld "body in the boot" , the us dealer changed whole suspension before realising all the airmatic e classes did this........ i guess i should have read this before !
3. Rear sub popping at high volumes - hasnt mentioned ths one yet, find out tommorrow when i pick it up.
4. comfort mode seat would not go back - again will find out tommorrow.

i also spoke to the previous owner who kindly gave me a copy of all the invoices from new, so now i know what the cars been through and had done!
