Had another look around one of these today at the dealers and even though it does look better in the flesh, it looks a hell of a lot like a C-Class front end; I'd bet that the new W205 is indistinguishable from this.
Is that so much of a problem as long as the overall 'look' is OK?
BMW and Audi manage to produce a much more homogeneous look across their range (though not without problems - i think the 1 Series front end implementation is a bit odd).
Took a couple of pics today of the Sport estate posted earlier. It was an E350 with leather upgrade and black ash trim. Must say it was a very nice place to be. Top of the dash is more padded with visible stitching (although maybe fake).
This was an E220 SE with the standard 17" wheels which look OK to me. The only real noticeable difference was the steering wheel which wasn't quite so blingy as the Sport and a toned down front end. Proper leather as standard and the same padded dash as in the Sport. Surpisingly the same white rimmed dials as well. All in all looks very nice in the flesh, especially the estate and I am looking forward to taking delivery of mine.
I was hoping Mercedes of Winchester would have one in their showroom yesterday but unfortunately the one they had was still a pre facelift, I'm guessing they are wanting to shift that before they put the new model on display.
Must admit it does look aggressive but the new front end seems a bit out of proportion with the rest of the car.
