... is there a problem with the rear jacking points ?
I think he means check for rust. Not a bad idea while the covers are off to squirt lots of waxoil in and around the jacking points.
Another area that they rust is inside the boot behind the trim, especially on the electric aerial side. Also around where the rear lights fit (on the inside). More waxoil if you're keeping it and make sure the boot drain holes are clear.

HI Rob

I havent seen one before , do you have any images , how does it fit?

I don't have an image of my actual unit but the following ebay link will give you an idea of what it looks like (except mine is black where that one is grey):

I scrapped my car before I got around to fitting it so I dont know if it screws in or not. I assume it just slots into the recessed space below the shifter.

I can take some pics and check out any fixings if you're interested though.

Rob , i have got an open tray with black carpet in it , in the space that the lockable box could fit , i cant see how it would fit ? any ideas , and go on then give me the price , do i need to sit down first?

As far as I've noticed, it slots into the open tray. I'll need to dig it out and see if screws are involved too.

Hi Rob....

Is it a zebrano or walnut one ?

Hi Howard, I'm pretty sure its walnut but I'll need to hunt it down and check.

I'll see if I can find it tomorrow.

Rob

No that's not mine but it looks the same apart from mine being RHD. I haven't advertised mine yet as I was going to list a whole load of W124 parts when I could get around to it.

Sorry, I haven't got back to you yet about my unit too. I've been a bit busy but I'll get it done soon.

Meanwhile, its quite a nice evening and so I think I'll go out for last orders :D
