new member r129 roof and roll bar problems

hi all, just joined up looking for advise on 1996 sl320 soft top and roll bar problems.have roll bar light on dash and switch, roll bar not working!also soft top light on switch and again not working, have tried window reset and battery disconnect and all fuses in boot fine, can anybody point me in the right directions regarding more checks etc, cheers, mike

Hi & welcome.

You will need to get the error codes read on STAR (M-B diagnostic computer). It's quite likely they can just be cleared i.e. there's nothing physically wrong. R129s don't like low voltage - I keep mine on a maintenance charger all the time now as it's not used that regularly.

hi there, yeh have had alot of battery problems in the past and stems from there i think, need to find an indy in the cumbria region with said star code reader, thanks, mike

forgot to say, also looking for a 6 fin original grill , any ideas where to try, mike
