Perhaps I should have said being precautious rather than difficult. :)

So it was time for another service. This time it was oil, oil filter, brake fluid and lubricating the sunroof. All in all, good service. Only niggles were not putting the stop start button back in place nor did they plug my dash cam in again. I used Mercedes-Benz Watford as they are my local and it meant that I can walk home.

So the first mod, to wrap the middle part of the sill. In my opinion it has made a huge improvement and adds depth to the side profile.

Funnily I don't have a picture showing the whole car from the side profile. D'oh!

Whilst I was waiting me and the kids went to a BMW showroom. Now this is just my opinion but the grill is even worse in person. Don't get me wrong, the darker colours look nice, because its less obvious, but the lighter colours are shocking. Absolutely love the M8 though.

So the day finally came to have my car exhaust modded. I booked it in with Paul at PCW Exhausts and it sounds fantastic! Let me know what you guys think:

In my opinion it sounds like a V8 AMG should :)

Thanks, I'm over the moon with it. Had the resonators and backbox modified and don't recollect any drone on the motorway :)
Wonder if he can do owt
with a V6 diesel, just to make it a tad more, throaty.

I'm sure he can, the only issue would be you wouldn't really know what it sounds like until its done, if that makes sense and isn't stating the obvious

So I'm getting an AUX battery malfunction error so I purchased a Noco Genius 10 and left it on charge (main battery from the poles). Started that car and got the error, however, when I started it again after a short journey (school run) it was fine. Thinking of placing the charger on the AUX battery next to see if that helps.

Had a little play with an M5 and a Evo X yesterday. It was still damp after a little rain and I was all over the place haha absolutely hate the standard tyres on these but with 6-7mm tread they're not getting changed yet...

So it’s been an interesting couple of weeks. Started getting an aux battery malfunction and after buying a trickle charger I was unable to get rid of the error. No biggie, after checking a voltmeter the main battery was a little low so I’ll order a new one.

Then my car was scratched. A little gutted, but my mate is a car body sprayer so shouldn’t be too much hassle getting that sorted.

Then I noticed the car literally slammed on one side. Alarm bells started ringing and I was dreading the worst. Got it into Mercedes as I thought I may get fortunate and it may be a warranty job. I get a call and they located the fault to one of the airlines which seems to have rubbed against the bodywork. Obviously isn’t covered by warranty but much cheaper than what I was fearing so I told them to go ahead and repair it.

Good news is that they saw the aux battery malfunction warning and swapped the aux battery as part of warranty so bit of a result there and the car is sitting at the correct level again just in time for a car meet tomorrow.

Recently had my AC regassed and it was ice cold. However, the performance has been diminishing and its now blowing luke warm air. So, a slow leak somewhere which I now need to have investigated. The gentleman who was a mobile AC guy will be popping down tomorrow as he did put dye in the system when he refilled it so will look for any obvious leaks. If he's not able to locate it I will get it booked in with a local specialist, hate things not being 100% with my car.

So the AC guy popped round who saw signs of a leak on the condenser via a UV light. Going to get some quotes as its not a job I want to tackle on my driveway.

And the chapter has closed. New owner who was an absolute gentleman picked it up today and drove off with that beautiful rumble

Hey guys,

So as some of you will know I decided to sell the E63 AMG. It was an absolute beast of a car and I still miss it. It did everything well but it was not cheap to maintain nor was I able to drive it to its full potential. I don't have the talent and it broke speed limits far too quickly.

So the search began and I spoke to friends and read countless reviews. Eventually I decided to go for the turbo charged Type R. I had to keep reminding myself to spend less than what I sold the E63 for, which wasn't easy and after a few lemons I finally found one in blue, which was the colour that I wanted.

So, the car. It's not perfect.

Positives:
Low miles
Remapped
Brand new tyres
Intake
Dump valve
Exhaust
Interior is in excellent condition

Negatives:
Exhaust
A creak somewhere
Cracked info screen
Scratched gearknob
Surface rust on the bolts etc
Mats are worn

So, you may have noticed that the exhaust is on positive and negative. So I was always going to add an intake, potentially add a dump valve and was definitely going to change the exhaust. It has a Milltek exhaust and the drone is absolutely shocking. My ears are ringing after a drive and almost everyone gives me a dirty look. I need to get this sorted asap as I don't think my ears can take much more of this.

However, this thing is nothing short of a little pocket rocket with go kart handling capabilities. The gearbox is sublime and its an absolute joy going through the gears. It's not fast by any stretch of the imagination, however, for me it has the right amount of power. It really is a fun car to drive and I can't wait to get some road trips done.

It has been over serviced but not serviced this year, which sounds weird, so I have ordered the oil, filter and pollen filter. Next year I will probably change the brake fluid, clutch fluid and spark plugs so that I have baseline.

So imminent things to do:
Fit a dashcam
Oil and filter change
New gearknob
Find out what can be done about the exhaust

So finally, pictures...
