Found the source of my rattle noise, a broken rear spring and by the amount of rust on the sheared part looks like its been broken for some time. so....... I need to replace my spring/springs.

Seen some H&R springs online that seem a good price rather than getting original springs. has anyone else fitted these to their 203 running sports suspension? and what are the differences in height as the H&R ones state -40mm over standard.

I've replaced a set of springs back in the day on my old Orion, so will my 203 be any harder? special tools?

Not too familiar with Merc shocks/struts but I would have thought you defo need spring compressors and depending on how tight that top nut on the fronts struts is maybe an impact gun or take it to a friendly garage who may open them for £5-10. A breaker bar may come in handy and maybe look up a how to guide which would give you all the info you would need (if you need any).

One thing I would add is to make sure your shocks are past their best as lowering springs reduce the amount of travel on a OEM length shock, this means you will be riding very close to the bump stops and this will kill the shocks off if they aren't in good nick anyway. Will also give you a crashy and cr4p ride.
