I received an email today from Inchcape, as no doubt did many others, offering to apply Diamon-Fusion to my windscreen for £99

I am not about to rush to ''invest'' but......is it a newish product?.......is it as good as the claim?

No doubt there are other products that make similar claims but I thought it worth bringing it to your attention and invite comment.

Or a Mini! Not sure how BMW have it as I thought ford held the patent.

Best invention for a long time - 60seconds and it is clear even with heavy icing.

Yes, this was one of the best features on my company Granada in the nineties...

Get a garage - I do zero scraping!

Even if a patent exists on a product, another manufacturer may use it "under licence" and pay a royalty, by agreement.

I use a kettle - scraping's too much like hard work.

I remember seeing early examples of Fords with heated screens, where just a rectangle had been cleared, leaving the edges still thick with frost and effectively tripling the width of the A-pillars.

Perhaps MB's heated windscreen washers are a better bet on a frosty morning?

I used to have a Mondeo with a heated screen and it was brilliant, i think they were standard fitment on the Diesels as they take forever to get warm.

I've used luke warm water for years. Funny watching my neighbours scraping away and I just gently pour warm water and go! :D

No doubt someone will find it outside of the stealer network for £30-£40

Sounds like a good idea in principle... but then again so did RainX and that stuff was terrible.

Isn't it exactly the same principle of Rain X, I wouldn't be paying £100 for it as G Technique offer a similar product and it wont stop it Freezing.

I was quite exited a few years back when i picked my new mini up in early Jan, I fully specd it up and the heated windscreen caused me no ends of problems. I apparently are one on the few people where the lines in the windscreen affect my eyes.

S classes had heated screens years ago.

I have had S-Classes since 1980 450 SEL up to my present one W221 the only one i didn't have was the "Tank" W140

None of them had heated front screens

I think you'll find that only cars produced by Ford (and any Ford owned such as Jaguar at the time) had heated screens because Ford patented the concept many years ago.

I recall an ex gf having a '93 Escort Ghia with a heated screen :D
