Just bought a 1991 190E 2.0 Auto - the cruise control doesn't work. This is not a problem as I didn't realise that it came with CC! :o Anyhow - just wondering if anybody out there had any ideas on a fix?

This is my first MB & my first auto car. Classic insurance for 3000 miles - a bit hobby - a bit fun. Really luvin' it :)

Thanks in advance.

Good point Matt - actually no. They are a tacky 'turbine' style alloy wearing 225/45Z/50 tyres - IMSC.

Intending to replace this week with 15'' steel rims from a friends 1995 C-Class and either 185 or 195 tyres to be more in keeping with the original spec.

Might the these wheels have a 'bearing'? - sorry :)

See what happens when you replace the wheels. You may find that cruise starts to work again. You need to make sure that the rolling circumference of the wheels is the same as the original, ie by using larger wheels/alloys you need lower profile tyres to compensate. If you search the treads you can find a link to a page that calculates the difference between tyres.

Many thanks Matt. Keep you posted on the result.

As long as all the tyres are the same size then that won't be the problem.

More likely is dry joints on the CC ECU or the CC actuation motor.
