VW Touareg R-Line, Saving up for a new S-Class!
Hi all,

I've just bought the dearest wife a 2006/56 (facelift) E320 CDi Avantgarde, and the wheels that are on it are as appealing as wallpaper on your legs.

I've seen a set of W212 new-shape E-Class wheels on fleabay, which are..

2 Fronts 8 x 18" et48

2 Rears 9 x 18" et54

The question is.. will they fit her W211, and if not - can they with spacers etc?

I've trawled the internet, and indeed this knowledgable forum - but can't seem to locate a definitive answer. The Alloy Wheels Direct link just makes my head spin !!! LOL

Any help appreciated!

Kindest Regards,

Lee

I'm not sure this will help, but one of the chaps on here managed to fit the current CLS staggered wheels on his S211.

I'm guessing that they will be a similar size and offset. Have a search on this sub forum for threads by bpsorrel.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that. I know the CLS ones do go on, but the W212 ones seem to differ a huge amount from the offset of the standard wheels (these are 48 and 54, the standard wheels are 35 and 38 i think). All a bit of a minefield for me to be honest..

It's a minefield for most of us!

I think the way forward for you, if you can do it, is to take your car down and actually try them on for size.

Which W212 wheels are you after, out of curiosity?

PM Druk (look in the members list for his details) he has fitted 212 wheels on his 211, but I think his are 17". He should be able to help you with your question.....

Its these ones on ebay..

I don't want to go 19" as they look a bit 'wide boy' for a 38 year old Nurse

18's are perfect for the car i think. She's not a prolific 'park by feel' merchant any more, so i'm happy to buy here some nice wheels for once.

As Ray said...I fitted 212 wheels to a 211. The 48 offset will work OK on the front. Cant answer for 54 on the rear cos mine were 48 and 48. (and 17" although that shouldn't matter cos the tyre will be lower profile.

What the ad does say is that the stud dia is 112 which usually denotes 12mm. You need to be absolutely sure on this cos 211 studs are 14mm. Probably a mistake but just in case.

Hi all

Would it work the other way around w211 alloys on a w212 ? I've seen some that would do for my winter tyres

Thanks

Et48

Hi!

You mentioned that the ET 48 offset would work "OK" on the front? What about the rear? Does it cause any steering or speedometer issues? Does it require any modification/adjustment (rods, bolts etc.)?

How does ET48 look on a W211 ? Would you say it looks better than the stock 16" ET36?

Thanks for your help
Regards
