Oil consumption figures

Hi all,

Wonder if anyone can help with this? Are there like official figures for oil consumption for W203s?

Mine was refilled after a B service and after 2500 miles, the computer says to add 1L of oil - is this normal? Also, does oil brand / specs matter? I used mobil1 0/40W previously, but the mechanic who did the service recommended 15 / 40W? Has this got any thing to do with it?

Any light on this slippery issue will be much appreciated.

There is often a discrepancy after service, due to the fitter not running the engine and then rechecking the oil. Top it up and see how it goes after that.

Unless you have a worn engine after high mileage you should get 10000+ miles to the litre.

Don't know what engine you have, my 200K always required 1 litre between services; around the 8-9000 mark.

I discussed at the dealer who said that anything up to 1 litre per 1500miles (yeah, I know!!!) was normal

Mine is a 200k as well - I'll top it up and see how it goes from there..
