One more written off...

Nothing broken :bannana:

Sounds a write off if the tail unit is twisted. :(

Are you really sure you wont be better off using the guys insurance?

Glad to hear your on the mend.
I got knocked off my Hayabusa 3 years back and got straight up and went home and took a couple of pain killers... i also thought all was well until i had head/neck aches 2 days after.
A year later i got the money for the bike and the cost to replace my leathers and lid...i got £3k for my injuries and was told (3 years ago) if i had even went to A & E for a check-up it would have "earned" me another £5k!!!!! I hate the idea of us all becoming Americanised and sueing one another.....but this would suggest why a lot of people make fraudulant claims.
I would recommend getting the insurance involved every time...thats wht we spend a small fortune insuring things.
My total cost awarded was just over £8k

I wish you well on your recovery.:thumb:

I was extremely lucky, as the bike was knocked out clear from under me, landed on the cars bonnet, bumped my helmet on the bonnet then rolled onto the floor.

The helmet I can't recomend enough, I don't even have a stiff neck!

PLEASE throw that helmet in the bin now: it is not safe to wear again now that it has been in an accident: it might have unseen cracks/weaknesses which might kill you if you are in another accident.

He's offered to pay for the damage, and I trust him - so I'm sure something will be worked out :)

I hope that includes a new helmet.

INSURANCE! INSURANCE! INSURANCE! it's precisely this sort of incident its there for.:thumb: Don't wait because otherwise the the insurance company will start to wonder why you delayed in claiming? Really--- its naive to do anything else --unless there's some snag you are not telling us about?:dk:

I'm a motorbike racing marshal and have been for the last 6 years now. The amount of crashes/falls I see it shows how important good kit is. Seeing someone get up from a 120mph highside is something else!

The best advice I've seen in this thread.

Before throwing it in the bin it's always worth sawing the helmet in half to stop somebody taking it out and selling it on to some unknowing individual.

Good bnews on the kit doing its job, it's incredible how well the good kit protects you.

Fingers crossed you get sorted out sharpish.

Dave!

Just another thing while I'm here, Spinal do you have a back protector? If not then I'd recommend you consider one when you replace your kit. Overkill some may say but it could be the thing that saves you.

Unless it's an Arai, in which case pop it into your dealer. Arai UK will pick it up and check it over for you - my old one survived 2 crashes with a clean bill of health.

Unfortunately last week I lost my Viper GT to a large lump of concrete that flicked off the back wheel of a lorry. :wallbash: I can feel the liner moving around the impact area so didn't even bother with the above, it's definitely DOA.
