For what it's worth, my conclusion is the cyclist only positioned himself where he did believing that no bus driver would ever deliberately swerve back at him after beginning to turn to the other direction. Which, with hindsight, was wrong.
No matter how the incident began, it should not have ended in a bus being used as a weapon. For that, the bus driver must never be employed as such again. Five seconds of madness - that will happen again. No one can guarantee otherwise. The sentencing in this instance is just.

I'm not sure it was the UK, since the car doing the filming is heading for the right side of the road, and there are no Belisha beacons.

My view is that the bus was already clearly entering the lane ahead of the cyclist, but the cyclist was going faster and caught him...the cyclist is clearly a numpty of the highest order...he manufactured the whole situation...and came off worst!

Yes he did...but go back a bit to 30 seconds into the video clip and you can see what happened before the side swipe.
