Opinions needed on a 100K miles C-class

Hi all

I think this is my first post! I was wondering if it is worth "speccing up" my 2001 W203 c-class which has done 100K miles now. I am the second owner, and previously it had done close to 90K in about 5 years (mainly on the motorways I was told).

Do you think I could get another 5 years or so out of this car - I guess in that time the mileage would be around 160K + - and whether it would be worth getting new alloys, tyres, sat nav etc etc i.e. spend a few grand on it.

Or should I just use that money towards a newer model (with less mileage)?

Welcome

The car has just broken in with that mileage, im sure if you keep it regualy serviced you shouldnt have any problems over the next few years.

It also depends on what your happy with, are you getting bored of you car and looking for something with a little more grunt perhaps?

Cheers for your reply.

I think I would keep the car for a few more years then! I do enjoy driving it so don't mind at all in keeping it. I think a good wax and polish and cleaned up alloys will make it look a lot nicer.

The only "problem" I would speak of is the fact that the only way to get an ipod connected to it would be through the FM modulator - the car wasn't set up for CD multidisc originally and I would like to keep the steering wheel controls for the stereo.

Might be worth speaking to Alfie about the option of having a comand unit fitted????

The COMAND unit for a 2001 as I understand it doesn't allow MP3 playback. Also, I was told that , if the car didn't originally come with a CD changer, then linking an iPOD directly to the stereo would only be possible through the FM aerial socket so only FM quality sound.

Thats why I am thinkin it may be worth Pm'ing him as he may have some options available to you.
