How would be the best way to paint my chrome (stainless steel??) grille in a matt black colour?

Would it be best to sand, acid etch primer, normal primer then top coat?

Any advice much appreciated.:thumb:

I assume it's a 'plastic' chrome finish?

De grease, tac cloth, plastic primer, rub back, tac cloth, final colour etc.
Warm, dry, dust free area. Light coats. Take your time. At least 24 hours between plastic primer and final coat.

If it's 'real' metal then use etch primer. Not good on plastics though. Then as above.

If it's 'real' chrome you can soak in 30% Hydrochloric acid to remove the chrome.
