Mercedes said that it cannot be retrofitted, i really dont know anyone with parking sensors on a SLR, thats why i was hoping there would be another solution available, i think the numberplate mounted will prob work best and be easiest to install.
As for the cars, yes they are my dads. I am not tryin to show off its just that a few members had interest in the veyron so i showed them a few pictures of it. Im sure a valeting guy wouldnt have a veyron, 599, and SLR parked outside his house. Also all the numbers plates are very similar. I could show u a few more cars with the number plate DAYAH. There were alot of cars we used to own before we traded them in for the veyron (alot more mercedes).
I will do it. You wont even be able to see the sensors.
With that collection of cars now you can aford a poor Ferrari driven by 2 bikini models to follow your dad's car along and let them signal when he's reversing...how about that? Probably cheaper option than a new bumper bar if you drill squint holes for your sensors...
Why do I need holes ?
An option that he was considering before m8. I thought you could taste the analogy and humour and not bringing this point up...
Obviously there are other ways of installing the sensors without drilling holes. Thanks for bringing this up anyway...
If the people "investigating" this idea had any idea at all they would know it was possible.
I think the only people that would go near this as a retrofit would be the Mclaren boys themselves and probably the only people you would want near a car like this. Can you imagine the local MB dealer trying to do it after some of the horror stories we have on here about servicing alone.
Mclaren automotive will definitely be able to do it contact here

If not they will refer you to another of their group companies that will do it either Mclaren Electronic systems or Mclaren Applied Technologies.
Only reason I know is that the company I used to work for supplied the carbon fibre composites and they were contacted before by Mclaren as to the effects of drilling it and carrying out this mod. Not sure what particular car that was on though.
Well clearly what we have here is a mindset. The mindset dictates the problem when Mercedes-Benz have already developed a solution where no holes are needed.
So you go to Mclaren and ask for holes ... it would result in some very puzzled lookes indeed. Firstly, it can be done without holes and secondly there are just as many Maybach and Designo SL65 cars out there worth as much as a Mclaren which get modified all of the time.
I know because I hear about the amazingly good results people have.
Those with the background and experience in modifying cars are quite capable in approaching this problem with an intelligent solution in a similar vain to SLK R171 TV and Distronic (also not possible from factory).
I think this advice is very good but I shake my head at the determination to drill holes. It is not at all the solution required here.
I am not advocating drilling holes as I too know there is no need to do so. I'm just replying to the OP if he does want to drill holes and fit those type of sensors.
\but let me clarify this is not necesscary
The customer is not qualified - so why would I take their advice.
Just being nosey. . . put all the regs numbers in my look up and the only one that exists is the Audi. . . . hmmmmmmmm.

Perhaps really high end cars aren't shown the DVLA site. I don't know this for sure.
I thought we were discussing parking sensors, not whether the regi's match the cars
