The Zeiss museum in Jena is definitely worth a visit, as is the nearby Planetarium. They've even got an old Zeiss planetarium projector decorating the local shopping centre

A few shots from our trip to Eisriesenwelt in Austria last week - you hike up a mountain and enter an ice cave - once inside the cave you climb up 174m on a winding staircase - holding carbide acetylene lamps. The guide stops to show you natural ice sculptures and he uses magnesium strip to light them up with intense white pics.
