I still haven't had a response from MB World!! However I have now left a message with someone from the "brand team" who can apparently arrange tours for groups. I'll keep you posted. If all else fails we can just turn up!!
EXPERIENCES & DRIVES
It seems if you want to book an "experience" it's best do that yourself at your first opportunity, to make sure you get to drive the car you want in a time slot that suits you. More information on the MB World website can be found
here.
GETTING THERE
Directions to MB World can be found
here.
For those that want to meet up en-route, I propose a couple of locations that might be suitable:
M42 Junction 10 Tamworth Services (Moto) - where the A5 crosses the M42.
Time: Leaving at
08:15
Address: J10 M42/A5, Green Lane, Tamworth, Staffordshire B77 5PS
M40 Junction 8A Oxford Services (Welcome Break) - where the A40 crosses the M40.
Time: Leaving at
09:45
Address: M40 Motorway, Junction 8a, Thame Road, Waterstock, Oxfordshire, OX33 1LJ
The folks meeting at Tamworth Services will then head on to Oxford Services, to meet up with the othere. There should be enough time to grab a coffee at Oxford too. Will then all head down to MB World.
If you're running late or if you can't find the others, carry on to the next meeting point or MB World itself - whichever is the next stop on the route.
ONCE WE'RE THERE
MB World said:
Mercedes-Benz World is open to visitors from 10am to 7pm, 7 days a week. Admission is FREE. Unfortunately no rollershoes or dogs may be admitted, except guide dogs.
I propose we meet at around
11.00 on the MB World car park on Sunday 14 January.
Informal thing - no fixed agenda, just meet, talk, nod, kick the odd tyre (with owners consent and signed discalimer), do as we please, and enjoy ourselves!!
People can stick together or do their own thing. Seems there's plenty to see, and I suspect many will want to fit in as much as possible, so let's just go with the flow on the day.
AND FINALLY...
Let's do a copy and paste roll call so we know who to expect at meeting points. I'll start...
