Pot Hole Damage?

It would appear that speaking to my Indie, the reason my Wheel was destroyed and the shocker exploded was perhaps a pot hole.
Now I could understand this if either the tyre had gone down straight away, or the handling had changed. But it all seemed to happen when I got back in the car half an hour later.
Apparently it is not a good idea to blast it round the country roads with the Suspension setting on sport 2

What i heard is that if you take a photo of said pothole and damage to your car... most councils are paying up due to the number of bad roads at the moment.... worth a try.....

Trouble is I don't know when it happened, I never felt anything? Maybe just find a pothole....any pothole!

Same was said about my unfortunate damage. As they really can't understand why it happened. Rear axle felt off the car.
