Hi hope someone can help me.

My father recently bought a 2007 E280 sport, which is red and looks great.........well until someone keyed the side of it :/

He has now got it repaired but since getting the car back the digital clock will not allow any adjustment to be made in the normal way!?

I have played around with the thing, trying to re set the time etc, also tried disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes to see if this would "reset" the clock and allow it to work normally again.

the clock has now reverted to 00:00 and again will not allow any manual adjustment - it will count up / down, but as soon as you release the + / - button on the steering wheel and press the 'R' to uodate the analog clock it returns to 00:00 again.

the date, although it can be adjusted, is also not advancing - pressumably because it thinks that time is standing still!.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Does the car have Comand or Audio 50 APS navigation, can the Navi find GPS fix? Perhaps the GPS antenna is not good or the car just has not seen open sky long enough to gain GPS fix after the repair.

Thanks for your reply.

The car only has an Audio 50 (no Command) so the time is changed through the dash/steering wheel.

(Does not have command or navigation)

I am defo changing the time the right way as the clock in my CLK is the same.

I am able to change the date and time in the dash (in the norman way) but as soon as I press the "R" to update the analog clock it resets to 00:00 and the analog Clock goes round and back to 12 oClock where it stays and does not move. If I dont press the "R" it still goes back to 00:00.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks.

Clock now working

My dads clock just started working again after 6 weeks and has never missed a second since. Strange but apparently after speaking to an auto electrician he has seen this before. :bannana:

Update:
After about 8weeks of the clock not moving from 12 o'clock it started working again and has not missed a second since!

Strange but cant complain.

Thanks
