Glojo's kinda stole my thunder, but as a general rule as skill level rises, the level of specialisation increase also - comparison of niche skill is very much impossible at this level.
For example, I work in a very specialised area where only a handful of people have the same knowledge and experience levels globally - so an equivalent of an F1 / WRC driver in my world. I have a certain level of base skills that equate roughly across my profession, so I can work in other areas (and often do) but my maximum performance is in my niche area.
So all these guys can drive cars very well - but comparing the niche skill of high speed pursuit on a public road is very different to driving a specifically-prepared vehicle on a closed road/track. For example, many rally drivers "struggle" between stages when they have to make rapid but legal progress - it's a very different set of skills for very different environments.
I'd much rather sit with a rally driver on a stage, a track driver on a circuit and a Police AD on the public road....
