R129 SL 500 Xenon Lights retro fit ??

Hi All

Anyone know if you can just plug and play (so to speak) Xenon headlights on an R129 SL.....mine is a 1998 500sl and i managed to get a genuine set of xenon headlights of a 1999 500sl that had a back ender. do i need anything else to make them work ? (got the complete units with balast)

any help would be much appreciated

The looms are the same. The self levelling won't work but the lights will plug and play. I need a few bits for my SL, is the interior on the one you found still there?

If your car has ADS (adaptive damping) the lack of levelling on the light units doesn't matter (the suspension is self-levelling).

Otherwise you'd need ride the height sensor(s) on the suspension, calibrating and hooking them up to the loom might not be straightforward though.
