Just changed my rear pads on my E280 57 plate. Didn't realise what an easy job this is. Why go to the dealership when one can do it themselves. I'm gonna do the font discs and pads next week as I think that will be a little bit more harder. Anyone else out there done their own?

Loads of us fella, you just need to have a go, just watch out for the 'lips' on the discs.

If you're changing discs, make sure the hub face is scrupulously clean before mounting the new one. Use a wire brush to remove any corrosion as even a small flake of scale can cause a pulsing effect when braking as its thickness is magnified by distance at the edge of the disc.

Make sure you grease the contact points of the pads to the pad carrier/caliper with decent high temp stuff. I use the MB grease as its very good.

Stratman is right about the hub being clean. 211's, 203's and 209's suffer the worst. They need a bit more than a wire brush really. We use an emery disc on a small disc cutter.

That's my front discs and pads changed aswell Now and car feels brand job. Had to remove hubs in the front to get disc out as they were both badly corroded on the inside and had to be hammered hard to get hub out. Took longer than I thought but I think next time ill do it in half the time
