reconditioned versus new parts prices

hello All--
I am conducting a survey into the demand for reconditioned parts.
With the 'telephone number" type price tags for new/original parts nowadays,
it appears that the demand for reconditioned/rebuilt parts/with guarantee is rising?
Can you please help me in my survey, creating a ranking and list of required recon parts,which Iam conducting.
Please let me know which parts you would like to see being reconditioned/with a 12-24 guarantee?
Tell me which part, the price you are expected to pay at your merc dealers and what you would be wanting to pay / realistically for a professionally fully reconditioned part.
The results will be published and contacts to qualified/approved engineering businesses may be arranged.

What do you mean by "reconditioned" ?
Some sellers seem to think this just means giving the part a quick wipe-over with a damp cloth.
