Any idea whats best and what stops it coming back. Have got little gardens growing along my rear window rubbers outside. Just waiting for the shoots to take and we're ready for summer.

wash it now and then? lol

Seriously though, the only reason it grows is if you dont wash the car oftern enough, blow it off with a pressure washer! it will come off, then run a light wash brush over it, then wash it, power wash it again, then it wont come back if you just keep on top of it

Try blasting the moss with a pressure washer, and then once that's done, use a fine detailing brush, and some all purpose cleaner, diluted, and clean along the seals, then rinse. They should then look nice and fresh again if you do this.

I haven't tried it myself yet, but I read that vinegar is good for this.

I have washed it. It just goes green again. Probably hasnt had chance to dry. Ive got some mould & mildew remover for patios i was going to try. Wasnt sure about paint damage. Ill try the vinegar, thanks.

If you have some comman sense then you wouldn't go blasting seals with a pressure washer.......................

Use a detailing type brush or failing that a small paint brush(careful of the metal holder though! Tape up.) along with some diluted all purpose cleaner or a degreaser like AutoGlym engine machine cleaner. Spray on, give it a good brush and rinse, it may need a few goes but it should go eventually. Don't go blasting seals with a pressure washer as you'll next question will be why is there water in my car.

On a warm, dry day, get a small brush and brush some bleach on the the mould being careful not to get any on the paintwork or you.
You can buy proprietary anti-mould sprays for use in shower cubicles etc, but these are generally nothing more than ordinary bleach at 10 times the price.
I get this on my C200K and this is what I do whenever its needed.
Do this and the green mould will be kept at bay.

I had that problem once with a car I was not using very often. My remedy was to wash and dry the car, and then go over the rubber bits with some silicone-based polish. Worked at the time.

Since I lack common sense, I would remove it with a quick blast from a pressure washer, then go over the area again with a cloth or sponge.

Then with something (like patio cleaner as you say) to kill off the remains. But there after, regular washing should see it off.

I have a similar problem, but it is on the inside of the rubbers against the glass....

Not sure how to get to it yet.

The trims should just pop out with abit of force, then I run a stanly blade along the velour edge to clean it off (don't cut or damage the seal though just skim the dirty off with the blade angled)

Use an old toothbrush and a general APC (All Purpose Cleaner).e.g. flash.
Ideally make it up and keep it in a spray bottle, ideal for cleaning door shuts etc.

Miltons (yes the stuff for babies) works quite well as well I've found on a few of my older money pits:D

Miltons is basically nothing more than a 2% solution of sodium hypochlorite with a little salt added for stabilty. Which is a very expensive way of buying watered down basic bleach for what the OP has in mind to use it for.
Although its said that its safe not to rinse after sterilising for babies, it is much better to do so.
Basic cheap Tesco "value" bleach is way to go for removing mould.
Trust me.

Get some advice from the dealer, my car had moss/ mould or something similar on the edges of the sunroof when I went to buy it. They got rid of it when they prepped the car. There is no sign of it now and I have had the car for nearly 6 months. They should be able to recommend something that will be fit for purpose..

Thanks for all advice. I did clean car today while we had a bit of sun.
Sadly no vinegar in the house ??? So in the end I sprayed on some bleech kitchen cleaner and rubbed it away then washed car. Lastly rubbed some black shoe polish on the rubbers and it looks great and shiny like new. You'd never know there was any mold there ;)
