Removing the CD changer on E270 2003

Further to a previous thread, I need to remove the center console 6 CD changer to have repaired or replaced . Problem is that having removed the 2 side star screws holding the unit in its mounting frame , its possible to remove it by a few inches ( imperial sorry !) but something is stopping further removal . Maybe its the wiring harness snagging up on something ???
Anybody done this before ???

No need to apologize for imperial units.

My master reference is this guide.

I've had mine out before and it didn't comes completely smoothly but a bit of wiggling sorted it. There are two or three connections, IIRC, one of which is the fairly delicate optical fibre MOST ring, so be careful.

Over the next few days, my (MP3-compatible) changer will be coming out permanently and put up for sale, so do let me know if you're interested.

Obviously Ill have to try some gentle persuasion .( in between the opening and closing of the CD changer cover
I assume that you can pull out the changer to the point where its possible to remove the couplers without any major dismantelling of other trim and stuff .

Also if it comes to the crunch maybe your 6 changer might be an option if mine is history
