Selling my 4200 & Chimaera - 2 into 1 - Thoughts on replacement?

The cars I was going to suggest were a Maserati Granturismo or an Aston Martin Vantage V8 but also what about a Jaguar F Type V8?
Good choices. I very much like the GT and the GT S 4.7 MC Shift is a cracking option. The GT is a bit too big and heavy for.what I'm looking for though.

The F-Type is also a cracking car. Had the pleasure of going on an EVO/Jaguar launch day at Millbrook for the F-Type. Brilliant day.

I think I'm looking for manual car though and the F-Type manuals are pretty new and pricey last time I looked.

The Vantage is right at the top of my list at the moment though.

I have decided to sell me blue 4200 and my Chimaera. The plan is to sell the two and buy a better more expensive interesting car. Anyone done anything similar and have any thoughts.

I have thought about an SLK55 as would like another MB again. Other than that I have been struggling for an MB option as not really looking for a soft top per se as not really a fan. Would prefer a fixed head. Something like a C63 Coupe isn't really special enough (no offence intended!) as I won't do many miles in it so looking for something more special.

The 4200 is up for sale in another thread. Any help or advice to the ad and improvements are always welcomed ;)

Nice problem to have .

Obvious candidates would be another SL , or maybe a 911 of some description?

Other cheaper options, which might be a bit of fun - how about a new Ford Mustang ( isn’t there a ‘Bullit’ special which is faster than the standard ones ? ) , or a Corvette ?

I presume , with the variety of cars you’ve had , you’ve had Ferrari or Lambo at some point ?

It is a nice 1st world problem indeed. I do understand and appreciate that. I work hard, save and might not be here tomorrow so my thoughts have changed over the years. I don't throw caution to the wind entirely as am far too sensible and selfless for that but why not enjoy it!

Forgot....a 911 doesn't really fit for me as not special enough or much of an event for me. Perfectly good cars and I completely understand why someone would have one. It was my best car out of 5 when I did a track day 5 a while back. I've had a 987 Boxster 3.2 S Manual and loved it but all the German stuff other than AMG's often leave me feeling a bit flat as a sports car. Obviously fantastic road and daily cars the MB's no question.

An SL is possible but I'm not a fan of convertibles per se so an SL gives me many disadvantages but with many of the advantages being of less use to me. A later SL is possible but then getting more than my back pocket allows me to spend.

Found myself indeed looking at new shape Mustangs and I quite like them. Found myself watching a Henry Catchpole video review just this week on one. He liked it too. They just are a bit too expenyiy 2nd hand and not a patch on a V8 Vantage really.

I'm quite an unassuming and under the radar character in the main so not sure a big brash American car would suit so well. Although I do like many of them.

Nissan GT-R , Audi R8 ?
Good shout and I have looked. Just think I would find them a bit to sterile or flash maybe. Don't think a GTR is up my street but an R8 is possible. Pushing the ideal budget boundary maybe a bit too far possibly.

A V8 Vantage 4.3 manual seems to fit nicely at the moment.

I think they may be a little too showey for me and not sure I would ever be extrovert or extravagant enough to buy one. Also my pockets aren't that deep.

I think there is so much better VFM out there and maybe 2 or 3 different lower priced cars suits me more than one more expansive one. I am sure they are lovely cars and I love seeing, watching and listening to them. Just not sure owning one would be my cup of tea.

Not a 911 ... 928S ?

Not a convertible ... C107 450SLC ? Or 450SLC 5.0 ? Finding a good one might be hard .

Buy wisely and you won’t lose out , might occasionally even make money out of your hobby !

Personally I like cars that I can use as a daily if I want to, Lambos and Ferrari are not cars you would drive to the shops in. I think they are garage to garage cars.

That’s fair comment, although it might be fine when you have a few cars to have a ‘just for fun’ car

If older classics not out of the question, how about Jensen Interceptor or CV-8 ?

I have no idea of prices , and I understand reliability can be an issue .

My neighbour has one and they sound lovely. I do like them but a bit too classic/old for me. His hasn't been 100% reliable for sure.
