Sensor on the ccv pipe what is it ?

Whilst inspecting all the pipes and connections under the bonnet I noticed that the plastic sheath on two wires has broken exposing the copper braid inside. The wires go to a sensor at the end of the pipe from the ccv and connects to the turbo feed pipe. I have no idea what this part is for and wondered if anyone could enlighten me as to its purpose . Oh yeah the motor is a w210 e220 cdi .

Will do when it stops chucking it down . But just Incase it helps its the pipe from the ccv on the top of the engine that then connects to the turbo pipe
