I bought my 11 plate c 350 CDI six months ago however i didn't like the 17" wheels it had fitted.

I negotiated to keep the 18" twin spokes from my C320 trade in as they had all just been changed under waranty so were brand new.

I now need some new rears tyres and I have no idea whether i should have run flats or not?

Does anyony know if a 2011 C-class facelift should have RF tyres?

Pretty sure my C350 CDI Sport Plus does not have run flats so my GUESS is that you don't.

Don't think so but may well be offered as an option in some markets? e.g. Germany

You can't mix runflats and non runflats anyway, plus runflats are truly awful.

So just buy proper tyres, and make sure they match your front ones, the C Class can get twitchy with different tryes front and rear, not as bad as BMWs, but not great either.

It's an option when ordering the car. As above you should not mix runflats and non runflats. If you have a spare wheel then you won't gain much from runflats. They do ride firmer than normal tyres.

OK then, does it have a spare and a jack, or a can of sealant and a pump?

It might have a jack, a can of sealant, a pump and no spare.

The waiting is the hardest part.

Easiest way to check is to determine whether or not the car has the basic tyre pressure loss system fitted, or the more advanced tyre pressure monitoring. If it's the former then it wasn't spec'd with runflats and they shouldn't be fitted.

It does have the tyre pressure monitor, not sure if it's the basic one or not.

It also has a spare wheel.

Whether it should or shouldn't have them is irrelevant. They are awful and Mercedes should never have fitted them to any vehicle.

If you can't call up your tyre pressures on the on board display then you have the basic tpm's.

Agree-my daughter has runflats on her mini cooper s,as soon as they need replacing i've advised her to get normal tyres allround-the ride quality will be transformed.

Wouldn't disagree with replacing run flats but thought ere was nowhere to store even a space saver spare on a mini? Had a friend who had her local mini garage replace 3 punctured run flats for her - she trusted them - they replaced with non run flats and don't tell her ... End result one of the non run flats got a puncture and she was stuck.... I don't know the full ins and puts of what min should have in terms of tyre weld but she swears she had nothing ..just a compressor...

No

It should have normal (real) tyres with a space saver spare in the boot
Sweet! i'm not a fan of RF plus they are more expensive!!

Considered these points & the only option is a can or two of tyre sealant-better than the ride runflats give!

That's not a definitive answer though, my Mrs's B class has only got basic tyre pressure warning and is on run flats.
