Sl 350 r230 boot problem

Hi all,

Had various problems with my central locking iv the past year or so, but been able to fix without cost. However out of the blue last night, the one really warm night of 2013 and I decide to drop the roof. And having popped something in the boot first, the lid closed and didn't suck in. The central locking still works fine and the boot locks but the close boot lid message comes up on screen and obviously the roof won't open. Bizarrely, I was looking after my father In laws sl over the weekend because he had dropped the roof and his boo wouldn't lock at all so couldn't put the roof back up. Why this weekend I don't know, but two cars , similar random symptoms, any help appreciated

I had a similar fault with my SL, there’s a small motor in the locking mechanism that has packed up, I don’t recall on the cost of replacement but could find out if required. I was away at the time and found the work around was to shut it firmly, almost a slam but not quite . This effectively fully closed the boot manually rather than relying on the 'suck' as it were. It wasn’t very nice having to do that but needs must. My local MB specialist did the rest when i got back.

Thanks for thy Daniel. Tried it last night but exactly that, was scared to slam shut so did it firm but not ott and didn't work. If you know the motor part or cost of repair that would fantastic.

Sorry for the delay it getting back to you, im probably too late but FYI for me (SL55) it was P/N A2307500185J and cost approx £230. Probably a similar part i would guess.
