Sl55 amg boot release

Hi guys

A friend of mine is wondering if anyone in the birmingham area could help him with the Sl55 emergency boot open , by breaking the high level brake light to access lock to open boot and replace a new high level brake light. He has replacement brake light. He is not confident in trying himself incase he causes more damage. The problem is car has hardly any fuel and he can't open fuel cap due to central locking issue so ideally someone local who could attend to help out

Does your friend know there is a metal emergency key in the remote fob, there should be a key hole, located out of sight, above the number plate?

There is an easier way by drilling a hole behind the numberplate assuming the metal key doesn't turn

The problem is the PSE pump. Make sure he has tested the fuse - yellow 20amp in the box behind the driver's seat, just left of centre.

If the pump has gone down when the car is locked, then the lid won't open. All he has to do is move the driver's seat forward & lever off the panel on the front of that box which is there to give access to the fuses in such a situation.

Just getting into the boot is only the start of opening the fuel filler flap btw - there is no handy lever or handle to open it
