SL60 - anybody know this car?

Stolen and recovered if I remember correctly ?

Que the Toerag driver ?

I maybe wrong....

Afraid I don't but I think it's gorgeous, I have a funny feeling one of them may well be my next car, I have already been browsing a few!

Its not Nickg's car. His was a low mileage, circa 30k.

And P reg, although that's obviously a personal plate ... and you can put an N plate on a newer car.

No mention of previous owners ...

This ones been on ebay about a hundred times and not sold...

I certainly wouldn't bid without having a good look around it and knowing everything about it.

At that price you're not tempted then Bill?

It could be resold for £18k in a year if you gave it some TLC and advertised it properly.

It's not Nick's old car.
This guy has been listing it on and off for about a year.
The mileage is a bit high and he would not sell it at a reasonable price. I don't think he will sell for £18000.

Are those replica wheels

With no reserve at £16k he may not have a choice!

Looks nice but were they really 450bhp? I think not.

I bet he ends the auction early if there's a bid on it.

No. If I'd wanted an SL60 I would have had Nick's second one off him. I was very seriously tempted by that, but couldn't justify it. Needed the money for another Merc. that I'll hopefully be getting in the near future :D

Being a genuine AMG and having non genuine AMG alloys surprises me the owner must have done a swap at some point or either they came like that correct me if im wrong though

Replica wheels are a huge no-no on a car like this. Genuine split rims (10" wide on the back) cost thousands.
It's such a rare car that nice examples will always be sought after but with higher mileage and the wrong wheels it can't be worth much over book.
Parkers..
SL60 AMG 2d Auto (5) 1997/P
Average mileage 90,000 miles
Original Price £98,020
Independent Dealer £14,740
Private Good £13,570
Private Poor £10,765
Part Exchange £12,050

Book prices are irrelevant I've found with sought-after Mercedes. I think my Silver Arrow listed at £19k privately and it went for £23k. Nick's was up for £30k at the dealer he sold it to which was faintly absurd however.

I did say nice examples will always be sought after. Your Silver arrows was better than most hence you got a higher price. Nick's last car had around 25000 miles which probably makes it the lowest mileage SL60 in the country.

An average one, with average miles won't make much more than book.

Yes 8.5x18 ET25 245/70 front and 10x18 ET25 275/35 rear - they were a £4,885 option on the R129 series back in 1997. The SL60 had them as standard.
