SL73 AMG 129 series

You know someone on MB world suggested that the zonda engine was comprised of 2x C36 Engines, as the stats of torque and bhp are exactly double on the zonda.

Doubt its true though.

If you take the heads off of the M120 V12 and the M104 you will see many similarities in the way they are built as they were engineered by mercedes using the same technology and at the same period...apart from that, they definately haven't just "stuck" 2 x 36 lumps together.

The similarities in engines are more than just the block between this and the zonda...They output the same power and have the same intake manifold on top...never inspected one close up, but allegedly AMG build the engines up complete in 7.3 zonda form and ship the complete unit to Pagani.

Which Zonda are you talking about? The V12 available then and the one supplied now is very very different.

i know that they originally used the standard 6.0 in the original C12, then they went to 7.0 and then finally 7.3, but that was still back 7 or 8 years ago they swapped over.
I'd have to do a bit more investigation to see what other changes they've made, but i'm sure all the engines were very similiar until the R clubsport which outputs 740ish hp. still using the 7.3 M120 lump and only visual differences were the carbon fibre intake manifold.
