Same engine as my CLK , combined is probably going to be 30-35mpg , doubt that it will be better than that .
Do some reading up on the M271 engine cam chain and sprocket issues .

That about all I could get from my CLK200.....an amazing combination of thirsty yet gutless. My wife's old 170 SLK 230 was way better on the fuel.....but her right foot does not weigh as much as mine!
Yeah I’ve been reading up on the chain and cam issues with these, as for mpg my daughter had a beetle cabby and it was a heavy car and the 1.6 was sluggish as hell with similar mpg to the slk.

Had 2012 SLK 250 with BlueEfficiency engine & 35mpg easy & 40mpg possible with gentle driving. Give it the beans in Sport it flew. Could not believe how gutless the equivalent 200 was but as something stylish with the right badge to bumble about in it would be tolerable.

Our 2005 SLK 200k gives around 35 mpg on a run. Best ever was 37. In urban use you will be lucky to see 30 unless you are very gentle. Check out the rear subframe. They rot from the inside out but MB will replace it free of charge. Apart from a rotten subframe, new battery and an SRS sensor ours has needed just routine maintenance in the 17 years we have owned it. Our CLK with the same engine can do 42mpg on a long motorway cruise to Italy
