Smart Roadster Brabus Xclusive

Well now this Smart Brabus is obviously your new love child, and is taking up all the slack around the house, there is an SLK sitting at home doing nothing, but crying.
I am quite willing to cheer this neglected soul up for you.
You just PM me your ridiculously low price for her, and I will sort out the transportation.

There you go, win win :)
I'd be more than happy to ferry it for you from Chez Dazzler to Chez Bandy at a very reasonable mileage rate (plus expenses) 🏎️
You’re such good friends, selfless, thoughtful and generous - I am so lucky to have the two of you in my life.

Between the two of you and @HappytalkAgain - who is similarly selfless and also offering to look after another car - I’ll have no cars left.

Well, that’s not quite true, who fancies looking after a 1992 Blue Astra CDi estate - the pride of the fleet - or half a dozen Mk2 Astras?

No doubt @MikeInWimbledon will offer to take good care of the Smart Roadster too, because he’s a jolly nice chap too and will give it a good home.

The Smart Roadster gets lots of smiles from pedestrians and other drivers. A lovely guy came over and spoke to me about it whilst parked in a car park. He used to hire the non-Brabus version when he needed a car whilst living in London in the noughties and loved them.

That mileage rate will be VERY reasonable, and two new rear tyres will be deducted from your expenses. ;)
My hourly rate is well under the going rate, but unfortunately I can do nothing but pass on at cost the price of the essential 16 ounce extra hot latte with 3/4 pumps of Irish cream, 3/4 vanilla, stirred once to the right and three times to the left and multipack of Cadbury Boost bars.

Well they say you're cheap Mikey, and I can well believe it now.:)
After Bobby has detailed it to within an inch of it's life, I hope you're not going to get any chocolate on the seats though.

(And I still want two new tyres);)

Have no fear: chocolate goes nowhere near my cars - even when they're not my cars.
And I prefer not to consider myself 'cheap' but more 'good value' 😀

Good value it is then Mikey :thumb:

We'll just wait for Bobby to hit my inbox with his tempting offer
I fear you may be waiting a while. Despite his apparent benevolence, apparently Mr D drives a hard bargain. The accountants at Nespresso still break out in a sweat when anyone mentions his product endorsement deal.

if it was still around, I would have generously donated to your fantastic collection my old Astra, a 1996 1.6i manual CDX Estate in Champagne Metallic. Regrettably 'tis no more according to the DVLA.

A fine car. It would have been a great place to put a 2.5 GSi MSD V6 motor.

It seems that it’s a bit Marmite.

So this morning my detailer came round to detail a car which he had to abort earlier in the week due to the weather.
  • Me: Have you noticed something different?
  • Detailer: You’ve not bought another car…?
  • Me: < Nods in direction of Smart Roadster >
  • Detailer: What possessed you?
Also this morning I had my hair cut. She’s keen on cars and always asks what we’ve bought since my last hair cut.
  • Barber: Where is it, tell me you’ve come in it?
  • Me: What’s that then?
  • Barber: Your new little car, I love it! I saw it last week and now I want one.
  • Me: I didn’t bring it because the road is being resurfaced and I didn’t want to risk it.
  • Barber: I’ve not stopped looking at them online. I’m definitely getting one.

Sorry.....but I'm with your valetter (I refuse to use the word detailer!!). I've never driven one and I'm sure its great fun........but I've never liked the look of them.....a bit too "Fisher Price-My First Car" for me. 😄 But people liking different things is one of the things that make the car world interesting.

Cue the "It's a hairdresser's car" comments 😂

LOL.....nah....thats Mini rag tops, soft top Beetles, TT convertibles amongst others.......oh...and later shape SLKs!!
I dont see that Smart as a hairdressers car.....too rare to start with.

I got told the SLK55 is for a hairdresser with a hairy chest....!

There's an image you may or may not want

I don’t usually post photos of cars I buy but this one might be a rare exception. It’s both almost a Mercedes and an unusual example, and so it might be of interest to some MBClubbers, so here it is.

Yesterday I picked up a Smart Roadster Brabus. I know, I know it’s a little dull compared to a Mercedes-AMG ForFour Black Series AMG Sport Plus Night Edition Premium Plus 125 Navi facelift powered by Brabus.

It’s a very very low-mileage car which is in truly exceptional and original condition. It has missed a few services but it has been serviced almost every year by Mercedes/Smart with paid invoices.

It has some incredibly rare options including the hard top and luggage rack with integrated high-level brake light - it even has a tiny sticker on the luggage rack in perfect condition which wasn’t removed in the PDI

Inside and outside it’s completely standard - except for factory options and original accessories - and as-new throughout. It’s Speed Silver with black leather interior (including the dashboard) and it’s all in fantastic condition.

Shod with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, the wheels are original Brabus Style VI design with the most ridiculously deep dish filling the wide arches. I love these wheels and if I can find the right set then I’ll get mother set..

I’ve wanted one since they were launched but couldn’t t really have one at the time as I would never use it whilst our children were young, but I’ve watched them ever since wishfully thinking.

I’ve waited very patiently for a very low mileage example to come up - and missed out by minutes on a 15,000 mile example last September - so I bought this one immediately and unseen.

It had 7,742 miles on the mileometer when I picked it up and so driving it its as close as it gets to driving a new one in 18 years ago. Its days as a garage queen are over - it will be driven …lots!

Is this a "targa" top?

Looks are one thing,

but how the sucker drives is something else.

This one's OK on both counts.

My barber has a Mini Convertible! 😁

Welcome to the club. I’ve had mine since 2006

Doesn’t see much action but I can’t bring myself to sell it. Last look I think it was on 39000 miles. View attachment 157738
Oooof. That’s lovely 👌🏻
