So, AMG owners, how’s your Fuel Consumption?

Not an AMG but I get around 200 miles to a tank around town. Usually shows around 12mpg but can go into single figures if I want to exercise it. Never really look at it tbh, can't be buying a car like these and worry about MPG.

True, but I also wish MB had fitted slightly larger tanks to the AMGs, 100 litres would have been nice, otherwise you keep having to stop at the petrol stations on a road trip lol!

Never had the start stop engaged either. Hate it
Hope you’re well
All good here mate! Hope you and your brother are well 👍🏽

No that would slow us down 😂

Had a quick look earlier - it’s 14mpg average. Reading some of the replies on here it could be a lot worse I guess especially considering the size and weight of the X166!

The GL63 has a 100 litre tank. Useful but works out around £140 a time to fill up…

Interesting to see how everyone’s fuel consumption is going?

I use the free app ‘Fuelly’ to record all of my petrol fill ups and calculate my fuel consumption.

So in my 2011 C63 125 Edition, my latest average is 13.6mpg. The best I’ve had is 16.5mpg.

I live in Essex, most of my driving is in town/city. I only use Shell V-Power. But I only use the car for leisure and pleasure. I don’t use it for work or drive it every day.

I got a stock E63S and in town - talking a 3-4 mile trip to school daily - I am getting between 12.5 and 13mpg ... Now living a bit further away from school with mainly A road traffic - I am getting closer to 16mpg.

I ONCE seen 20mpg on the M11 but that was rare :)

As for petrol - the only 98+ RON / ROZ we can find here is actually Tesco with 99 RON / ROZ ... Shell is too far away.

One thing to keep in mind with Tesco - I have read (can't prove it though) that Tesco Momentum is MINIMUM 99 and can vary apparently. On other forums a guy said they once measured 103 which caused disqualification on a track day. Again, whether this is true or not - it's the internet so who knows :)

Bottom line - Tesco Momentum for me.

Gosh, doesn't that mean you need to pay like twice every time? Pumps have a £99 limit don't they ?

I used to use it on non Mercs ... What annoys me with the Start Stop (Why does the E63S got one anyway) - is it stops ... then even if you lift off the brake and start the engine again, it stops it again even if you barely moved - like an inch ... How that is supposed to be good for the engine is beyond me ...

You got it!

A bit annoying but you get used to it.

Taken from Mercedes me, average consumption 13.6mpg. 👍 👎:):( S63 AMG Coupe

Do the 99 quid apply for 'pay at the till' as well ?
Not sure - definitely is for Momentum at Tesco on the pay at pump, I can’t remember if the Shell app lets you do more but definitely remember having to fill up, go into the shop to pay and then back out to brim the tank!

No i pay cash and there's no limit

why even bother??
life is too short to drive an AMG but think about MPG??

No i pay cash and there's no limit

lol even before Covid I rarely had cash. Also my Amex Nectar gives me ridiculous amounts of points and I pay an average of 1 or 2 bottles of scotch just by using points - I'd be losing actual money if I were to pay cash lol ...

Yea I don't look either. Can someone tell me why it starts warning you at a quarter of tank, seems premature to me

I wouldn't say my e63s warns me at a quarter, but certainly earlier than other cars. I was surprised before that given it has an 80L tank, that I only fit like 65 or 70 liters in when the warning popped up.

But to be honest, having a 4L Bi-Turbo I wouldn't want to get warned 'short notice' - especially not if you run at 13mpg ... I drove to Germany once and in the Netherlands I struggled to find an open petrol station in the middle of the night so I was glad I had a long range (wasn't my AMG). After that I always took a 5L reserve with me.

Now with the AMG - I'd be quite anxious if I were to get a warning because there is a good chance you won't make it :)

Especially at some driving styles around 2am lol .. ..

Which makes me wonder - maybe the petrol gauge is more dynamic ? Based on driving style and remaining distance ? Dunno ...
