whats the potential of that engine for modings
how much power can i add and still enjoy at as safely daily driver

i know the C250 has like 200hp with the same engine

thinking of adding the kleemann box which add 30hp so that takes me to 165hp~

whats next?

You can safely go to 170 bhp and 340 Nm or 410 Nm torque (depends on base engine) without problems either via a high end tuning box or a remap.

I thought the C250 used twin turbo's?
If you have an auto gearbox, I fear that will explode long before the engine does.

hmm good to know about the bi turbo

but if the gearbox in the c250 can handle 200HP mine should too?

Not sure about that, there was a thread a while ago that showed all the different varients of the same engine, i.e. 200,220 etc, in the W203's all had different rated auto boxes. In much the same way as everyone thinks all these engines are the same, I doubt the C250 with twin turbos is exactly the same as yours and would suspect the auto boxes are different to.

thanx, do u know where i can read about it to be sure?

also, do u have the same engine as mine too? did u do any performance upgrades?

Do a search on the forum, there are quite a few threads regarding this, none of them conclusive.
Regarding my own car, I looked into getting it remapped but was put off by two things. One guy on the forum broke two auto boxes remapping 220CDi's and the remapping firm who guaranteed their work against any engine or drive train damage from remapping, would only pay out if the remap was faulty. Basically not worth the paper it was written on.
Plenty have done it and are over the moon though.

The fact that tuning companies offer 30/40hp increases with a corresponding increase in torque on the normal output of the standard engine offers is a good indication of what's possible with reasonable reliability in the longer term. If you want a greater power increase you probably need to buy a car with a more powerful engine fitted as standard and mod that. :dk:

from my recent experience with warranty and traceability, i would advise strongly against altering the factory settings.

I will only ever tune any cars i own using the add on boxes in the future.

once unplugged, no one will ever know it was tuned, so no worries over warranty etc.

Pray tell, or did I miss the thread somewhere?
