Sold the Merc, moving on

The Hirsch 9-3 interior. A lot better than the standard GM one!

Your right :thumb: it is a fair bit of an improvement. I like the carbon trim too, most the ones ive looked at have aluminum or plain black trim in them. Would be nice to be a bit more stitching on it though.

Good luck with the new car

The Saab I had I liked
The night vision instruments

The little plastic clip for parking tickets (in my volvo too)

2.3 LPT - performance was good

What I didn't like
ate ECUs
hmmmm that's it...

But I too have a soft spot for them from the time I worked at their factory in Trollhatten...teaching the engineers English.

I dont think they are to bad on the plastics front but they could do with a bit more strength and padding behind them because they do pick up a few rattles with age, I really like the sound of the leather trimmed dash, Ive not looked for a while now but have you tried ELK parts, they usually have some good OEM and tuning bits in at fairly reasonable prices. Did you ever see the Yankton NG900? They did a suede and carbon dash, Not very homely but it restores a bit of that jet fighter fell

The wood dash in my 2001 9-5 looked better than that and did not rattle!

I may have sounded a bit harsh with the rattle comment. :o My comment was based on experiences with the 900/9-3, I have a bit of OCD when it comes rattles.

Happy to say (so far!!) no rattles or squeaks from the Saab, despite being a convertible and running on the stiffer (sport?) suspension and getting shaken like crazy on the rutted and pot-holed roads around here. Those guys at Magna in Austria must have put these 9-3 convertibles together well. Incidentally, one for dhard and the C63 thread - these Magna built Saabs are actually "hand assembled". Bet not many people knew that! :D
